Sioux City Better Business Bureau Office Closes

November 23, 2014

(Sioux City)– Northwest Iowa residents looking for assistance from the Better Business Bureau will no longer be able to get it by contacting their Sioux City office. You’ll have to call their office in Des Moines instead.

A news release from the Better Business Bureau says their Sioux City office has experienced financial difficulties in the past year and the president of the board that oversaw the office there, Stephanie Hageman, recently resigned.

KUOO news spoke Wednesday with Mary Krueger Eyler, President/CEO of the Greater Iowa Better Business Bureau. She declined to comment on the closure of the Sioux City office, referring us to a former board member in Cherokee who didn’t immediately return our phone call.

Krueger-Eyler did say the Des Moines Better Business Bureau has been appointed to temporarily service the 20 counties in northwest Iowa formerly served by the Sioux City office. She says they started doing that May 1st.

Consumers needing assistance should contact the Des Moines office of the Better Business Bureau at (515) 243-8137 or 1-800-222-1600.
