The city of Armstrong will receive a 25-thousand dollar grant for a community center project. The original request was for 40-thousand. The award is contingent on 15-thousand dollars being raised locally by this coming September 1st. The project consists of purchasing and remodeling the former Bank Midwest/Mini Plaza building into a community center. A new roof is included in the project along with some drainage work. The project has a total cost of 143-thousand dollars.
Graettinger was awarded its full request of 100-thousand dollars for the construction of a new four-thousand square foot swimming pool. The 672-thousand dollar project includes demolition of the existing pool. The new pool will include four lap lanes, zero depth entry, and a diving area along with new decking and fencing.
