(Spirit Lake)– Minor damage was reported in a house fire late Wednesday afternoon in Spirit Lake.
Fire Chief Wally Jorgenson says the Spirit Lake Fire Department was called to the Judy Berg residence at 1312 Fargo Avenue around 4:15 p.m.
Jorgenson says a security light on the outside of the house had shorted out, starting some siding on fire. He says the homeowner had the fire pretty much out when firefighters arrived.
Damage was limited to the siding right around the light and fixture.
Jorgenson says it’s fortunate the fire was discovered in its early stage or it could have been much worse.
Spirit Lake firefighters were on the scene about 15 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
