(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake man has been arrested in a child pornography investigation.
Authorities say 43-year-old Scott Sweet was indicted by the United States Attorney’s Office for possession of child pornography following a joint investigation by the Spirit Lake Police Department and United States Postal Inspectors.
Sweet was arrested by the Spirit Lake Police Department and was booked into the Dickinson county jail, where he was turned over this (Tues.) morning to federal marshalls.
Authorities say a search warrant was executed at Sweet’s residence in February 2002 at which time computers, video recording equipment and several other items were seized.
Authorities say multiple local, county and state agencies across the country assisted in the investigation.
