Milford Police Chief Announces He’ll Retire At The End Of The Year

November 23, 2014

(Milford)– After 25 years, Milford Police Chief Steve Zimmerman will be calling it quits at the end of the year.

With regret, the city council Monday approved Zimmerman’s retirement resignation, effective this coming December 31st.

Zimmerman has more than 30 years experience in law enforcement. Prior to becoming Police Chief in Milford, he served as an officer in Spirit Lake.

Zimmerman says that while he looks forward to retiring he’s definitely going to miss the people. He thanked the community and the city council for their support over the years.

Zimmerman says he decided to make the announcement now to give the city plenty of time to find a suitable replacement.
