Dick. Co. P & Z Recommend Road Standards

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county Planning and Zoning Commission Monday adopted a list of standards roads in subdivisions would have to meet to be adopted into the county’s secondary road system.

Under the proposed standards, urban-type roads would have to have storm sewers with either concrete or asphalt pavement. They would have to be curbed and guttered. Streets with parking on one side would have to be 31 feet wide; those with parking on both sides would have to be 39 feet wide. The urban streets would be designed for a 25 mile-per-hour speed limit.

Commission members voted unanimously to recommend the board of supervisors adopt the standards.
