(Spirit Lake)– Three people were injured early this (Sunday) morning when a vehicle crashed into a house in Francis Sites just southeast of Spirit Lake on East Lake Okoboji.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Johan Neuberger of Spirit Lake lost control of a 1996 Ford Explorer as he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle rolled several times until it struck a house at 17100 255th Avenue.
Neuberger and two of his three passengers were transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare. Authorities aren’t releasing the names of the passengers or the extent of their injuries.
No one in the house was hurt.
Damage to the house was estimated at between 10-thousand and 15-thousand dollars. The name of the owner hasn’t been released.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Spirit Lake and Okoboji Police Departments, Spirit Lake Fire Department, Spirit Lake First Responders and the Iowa State Patrol.
The crash took place around 2:00 this (Sun.) morning.
