(Arnolds Park)– A rural Spirit Lake man was injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon in the Moore Lake area east of Arnolds Park.
The State Patrol says 37-year-old Mark McKelvey lost control of a 2000 Harley Davidson on 182nd Street a mile northeast of the intersection with 242nd Avenue. Authorities say McKelvey was rounding a curve when he lost control of the bike…going off the north side of the road.
McKelvey was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with road rash, a broken ankle, abrasions and a concusion. He was held overnight for observation and was released the next day.
Authorities say charges are pending.
The State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Arnolds Park Police Department, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Arnolds Park Fire and Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance.
The mishap took place shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
