(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake school board will have two new faces on it following September’s school board election.
Longtime incumbents Dr. Craig Newell, who is currently the board chairman, and Dr. Mike Donohue have announced they won’t seek re-election. Newell has been on the board since 1986; Donohue since 1994.
Just one seat will be up for election in the Harris-Lake Park district: it’s the district two seat held by Tom Ransom.
In the Terril district, seats held by Calvin Sawyer and Jody Olson will be for election.
And in the Okoboji district, the seat held by Mike Chosen will be on the ballot.
The filing period for the September 9th school board elections opened Monday and continues through July 31st. Papers are available at the business office of your respective school district.
