(Okoboji)– The 11-member board that will oversee the 503 million dollar Iowa Values Fund met for the first time Wednesday at the Inn of Okoboji.
Michael Blouin, Director of the Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED), presided over the meeting as the group has yet to select its leadership. Blouin says the Values Fund will play a significant role in attracting high paying jobs in life science, information solutions and advance manufacturing.
But, he says a lot of work needs to be done yet before the board will be ready to entertain any proposals for assistance. For one thing, the board has yet to receive any of its funding.
The Iowa Values Fund board meeting was held in conjunction with the regular monthly meeting of the Iowa Department of Economic Development Board, which is also meeting this week at the Inn.
