(Washington, D.C.)– Some northwest Iowa fire departments will share in more than 500-thousand dollars in the latest round of grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
Grants have been awarded locally to departments in Bancroft, Granville, Hospers, Matlock, Ringsted, Rock Valley and Truesdale.
The money can be used for training, wellness and fitness programs and to purchase firefighting equipment and protective gear.
