Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest Of Spirit Lake Man

(Spirit Lake)– Charges have been filed against a Spirit Lake man in connection with a traffic stop Wednesday night in Spirit Lake.

Spirit Lake police say they stopped a vehicle driven by Tyrone Vann of Spirit Lake around 9:30 p.m. in the Hy-Vee parking lot for some traffic violations.

Upon further investigation, officers determined Vann had been driving with a revoked license. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a substance believed to be marijuana.

Vann was transported to the Dickinson county jail.

He was charged with driving while revoked; possession of a controlled substance-marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia and operating while intoxicated, second offense.

A passenger in the vehicle, Richard Newbiggen of Spirit Lake, was also arrested. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, and was transported to the Dickinson county jail.
