Sioux County Crash Claims Life Of George Woman

November 23, 2014

(Hull)– A two-vehicle collision late Monday afternoon on Highway 75 two miles northwest of Hull in Sioux county claimed the life of a George woman.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 51-year-old Judy Dieken of George was northbound on Highway 75 and 42-year-old Patrick Camburn of Rock Rapids was southbound. Authorities say Camburn crossed the centerline, colliding head-on with the vehicle driven by Dieken.

Dieken was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sioux County Medical Examiner. Camburn was taken by ambulance to a Rock Valley hospital and was later airlifted to McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

A 1997 Pontiac transport van driven by Dieken and a 2000 Toyota Tacoma pickup driven by Camburn each sustained an estimated eight thousand dollars in damage.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Hull Fire Department and ambulance and the Sioux Center ambulance.

The collision took place shortly before 5:30 p.m.
