(Cedar Rapids)– A Florida man has been charged in federal court with one count of traveling to Iowa with the intent of engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
The charge was filed Wednesday in U-S District Court in Cedar Rapids against 25-year-old Vincente Abad Junior of Hialeah, Florida.
Abad has also been charged by local authorities with five counts of sexual abuse of a child…class “C” felonies.
Abad is accused of traveling on July 15th from Florida to Milford to have sex with a girl under the age of 16.
The arrest of Abad is the result of a search warrant that was executed on a residence at 1511 Okoboji Avenue in Milford. It resulted in the seizure of several electronic devices and other items allegedly used in the assault.
