(Milford)– Officials with Spencer Hospital announced today (Fri.) they’ve signed a physician who will practice three days a week at Milford Family Care.
Susan Zulk, Spencer Hospital’s Marketing Director, says Doctor Sherry Tighe will start seeing patients in Milford this coming Monday, August 4th.
Zulk says Maureen Reeves Horsley, a Nurse Practitioner, will continue to serve Milford Family Care one day each week.
Dr. Tighe practiced family medicine at Monticello Medical Center in Monticello the past five years. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1995 after completing her Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Iowa. Dr. Tighe is certified by the American Board of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Iowa Medical Society.
Dr. Tighe is a native of Fort Dodge. Her family has vacationed in the Iowa Great Lakes each summer. Her husband, Jim, is a history teacher at Spencer High School, where he’s also the head football coach.
Zulk says they plan to have an open house for Dr. Tighe sometime in September.
The lack of a physician in Milford has been a concern among many residents in recent months. Zulk hopes today’s announcement will ease that.
