(Estherville)– Three Estherville residents have been charged with possessing pot as the result of an observant Sheriff.
Emmet County Sheriff Larry LaMack and his wife were riding a motorcycle Sunday when they came across a suspicious vehicle two miles west of Wallingford. Upon further observation, LaMack noticed people putting plants in the vehicle. He discovered the plants were marijuana, and contacted the Sheriff’s Office on a cell phone, which sent a deputy to the scene. Prior to the deputy’s arrival, the vehicle took off east, into the city of Wallingford. The deputy stopped it a short time later just north of Wallingford on Highway four.
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 37 marijuana plants along with some drug paraphernalia and additional marijuana.
The occupants of the vehicle, 35-year-old Timothy Keeler, 48-year-old Dennis Carlson and 41-year-old Anne Carlson…all of Estherville…were arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture marijuana and a drug tax stamp violation…both class “D” felonies. All three were booked into the Emmet county jail.
Authorities then executed a search warrant on the Keeler and Carlson residences that turned up additional drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana…resulting in additional charges against the three.
