Seven People Charged In Latest Clay County Pot Bust

(Spencer)– Another marijuana bust in Clay county has landed seven people in jail on numerous charges.

Clay county deputies along with the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant early Saturday morning at the Country Villa Mobile Home Park in Spencer, lots 31 and 66.

At lot 31 deputies found quantities of marijuana and several pieces of drug paraphernalia. The occupants of the trailer, 21-year-old Cody Anderson and Natasha Overstreet were both arrested.

At lot 66 deputies seized marijuana, drug paraphernalia and stolen property. They arrested the occupants, 48-year-old Gregory Cadwell, 51-year-old Sheryl Cadwell and a 17-year-old male juvenile. Also arrested were 18-year-old Joseph Booher and 19-year-old Nathan Martinez, both of Spencer.

All seven have been charged with possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. The adults were booked into the Clay county jail. The juvenile was transported to a holding facility in Cherokee.

Clay county deputies expect additional arrests and charges as part of their ongoing narcotics investigation.
