Cherokee Man Sentenced On Federal Meth Charges

November 23, 2014

(Sioux City)– A Cherokee man has been sentenced in U-S District Court for conspiring to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine.

25-year-old Jason Wayne Persons was sentenced to slightly more than 10 years in prison and was placed on eight years’ supervised release.

Persons entered a guilty plea in April of this year.

Court documents say he was involved with others in the manufacture and distribution of more than seven ounces of pure methamphetamine and the distribution of more than seven pounds of a methampehtamine mixture.

Persons is being held in the U-S Marshal’s custody before he can be transported to a federal prison.
