(Spencer)– A search of a Spencer home last week has landed two people in jail on numerous drug-related charges.
On Friday, Spencer police searched the home at 504 East Second Street and found marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
The occupants of the home, 47-year-old Shirley Jo Haar and 34-year-old Kenneth Ray Bauerly–both of Spencer–were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver…a class “D” felony; possession of methamphetamine; and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were booked into the Clay county jail on a 12-thousand dollar bond.
Because the home is located near Spencer High School, the felony charge has been enhanced under Iowa law. Both Haar and Bauerly face an additional five years in prison because of that.
The search is part of an on-going investigation by Spencer police, and more arrests are expected in the future.
