(Spirit Lake)– Good news for enrollment this fall in the Spirit Lake school system.
Superintendent Dr. Tim Grieves says the district gained 15 students on its certified enrollment this fall. Grieves attributes the increase to larger than anticipated numbers in the Kindergarten class and in the elementary classes.
Grieves says the increase may be only temporary though. He says projections over the next five years show enrollment in the Spirit Lake schools will hold its own or drop slightly. He’s hopeful the trend could reverse itself if all the new houses currently under construction in Spirit Lake become occupied.
