Ayrshire Man Pleads Guilty To Putting Python Snake On Children

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– An Ayrshire man has pleaded guilty to a charge of child endangerment for wrapping a 10-foot albino python snake around the necks of some children.

27-year-old Chris Frerichs entered the plea in Palo Alto County District Court on Tuesday.

Authorities say the incident took place while Frerichs was showing the snake to some neighborhood children. Authorities started investigating after one of the children told parents about the incident.

Frerichs received a two-year suspended sentence along with two years’ probation. He also must undergo substance abuse counseling and was ordered to get rid of the snake.

Frerichs is also prohibited from keeping snakes while he’s on probation.
