(Undated)– Two more northwest Iowa fire departments have been awarded funding through the U-S Department of Homeland Security.
The Rock Rapids fire department will get 22-thousand dollars and West Bend will receive 17-thousand.
U-S Senator Tom Harkin says the grants are to be used for purchasing equipment, health and safety programs, to enhance emergency medical services programs and for prevention and safety programs.
The money comes through the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
