November 22, 2014

(Milford)– A two-vehicle accident that happened shortly before noon today (Tues.) in Milford sent two people to the hospital.

Milford police say 43-year-old Pamela Wingert of Okoboji was northbound on Highway 71 and had stopped for a red stoplight at Sixth Street when she was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Kristina Gunderson of Arnolds Park.

Both Wingert and Gunderson, who were alone in their vehicles, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. Wingert complained of neck pain; Gunderson complained of chest pain and an arm injury.

Three thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2002 Subaru driven by Wingert; damage to a 1988 Oldsmobile driven by Gunderson was estimated at five thousand dollars.

Gunderson was cited for failure to stop in a clear, safe distance.
