SL Traffic Stop Results In Pot Discovery

(Spirit Lake)– Another traffic stop in Spirit Lake has resulted in the discovery of pot.

Police say they stopped a vehicle around 1:00 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning at the intersection of Hill Avenue and 28th Street for a speeding violation. The vehicle was clocked at 50 miles-per-hour in a 30 mile-per-hour zone.

Upon making the stop, an officer found 13 grams of marijuana. The driver, 27-year-old Chad Theesfeld of Arnolds Park, was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana…first offense.
