(Sioux Rapids)– An Alta woman was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident in rural Clay county Friday.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the mishap took place just before 5:00 p.m. on Highway 10 about two miles northwest of Sioux Rapids.
Authorities say Kathleen Ann Elston of Alta was eastbound on Highway 10 when she lost control of a mini-van and spun into the path of a westbound pick-up driven by Dan Skelton of Sioux Rapids. The van was broadsided.
Elston was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital and was later transferred to another hospital. No injuries were reported to Skelton.
Due to icy conditions on the roadway, authorities say no charges were filed.
