(Ocheyedan)– State Senator David Johnson of Ocheyedan says he’s been appointed Chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee for the upcoming session of the Iowa General Assembly.
Johnson says the appointment is the result of the U-S Senate confirmation of State Senate President Mary Kramer as ambassador to Barbados.
Johnson, who will continue to serve as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and the Environment, says it will give him a special opportunity to get all the players in the ag and environmental communities to sit down at the same table.
The Iowa Legislature convenes January 12th.
