Ashton Man Pleads Guilty In Federal Court To Drug Charge

(Sioux City)– An Ashton man has pleaded guilty in U-S District Court to a drug charge.

22-year-old Casey Farnsworth pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

In a plea agreement, Farnsworth admitted that between October 1998 and continuing through November 2001 that he and others distributed and possessed with the intent to distribute five pounds of marijuana.

A sentencing date is pending completion of a pre-sentence report.

Farnsworth faces up to five years in prison and a 250-thousand dollar fine along with two years supervised release.

The case was investigated by the Osceola, O’Brien and Clay County Sheriff’s Offices, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement and the Iowa State Patrol.
