Alta Residents Charged In Clay Co. Traffic Stop

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Two Alta residents have been arrested on multiple drug charges after a routine traffic stop in Clay county last week.

Authorities say a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a car around 1:15 a.m. New Year’s Eve driven by 43-year-old Larry Boyd of Alta for a routine traffic violation. A check of his driver’s license showed he was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Dickinson county for fifth degree theft. Deputies also discovered methamphetamin on Boyd. He was taken into custody and deputies then searched a passenger in the vehicle, 35-year-old Angela Allbright of Alta. They found meth in her purse and she was arrested as well.

Boyd was charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute, a class “C” felony.

Allbright was charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of meth.

Both are being held in the Clay county jail pending an initial court appearance.

Boyd will be transferred to Dickinson county later.

The vehicle, a 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix, and the money that was recovered, have been seized. Authorities say forefeiture proceedings are underway.
