IGLMM Board Braces For Possible Legal Battle

November 22, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– As if a 1.7 million dollar debt wasn’t a big enough headache for members of the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum Board, they may also now be involved in a legal battle.

Cary Parker, former General Manager of the Arnolds Park Amusement Park who resigned effective December 1st of last year, has alleged that certain past and present board members defamed him and interfered with his employment as General Manager.

The Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum Board met in a closed session today (Friday) to discuss the claims. A news release that was issued this (Friday) afternoon says the board has retained legal counsel and plans to vigorously defend against the claims.

The release also states that the board does not expect the legal matter to put the park at risk. It states that “no donated funds will be used in defense of the claim”.
