(Spirit Lake)– Another meeting on how to address the local substance abuse problem will be held Wednesday (01/21) at the Expo Building in Spirit Lake.
Cindy Dather of Dickinson County Empowerment is helping organize the meeting, set for 9:00 a.m. She says it will be a follow-up to one held late last year.
Dather says those attending Wednesday’s meeting will be split into focus groups to discuss four topics including what good things are happening and what impresses them about Spirit Lake; what specific things are working well when it comes to drug abuse issues; what areas need the most improvement; and what are their visions for Spirit Lake in the next three to five years.
Dather says the meeting will be facilitated by Cornelius Bird of the Child Welfare Policy and Practice Group from Atlanta, Georgia.
A free lunch will be served in conjunction with Wednesday’s event. It starts at 9:00 a.m. and is expected to last through Noon. Those wishing to partake of the lunch must pre-register by calling 336-1112 by Noon Tuesday (01/20).
