Low To Moderate Income Homeowners In Six Counties Eligible For Repair Funds

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– Low to moderate income homeowners in six northwest Iowa counties are now eligible to apply for funding to make necessary repairs to their homes.

The Northwest Iowa Regional Housing Trust Fund says it’s received $268,989 for the program through the State Housing Trust Fund for fiscal year 2010.

Low to moderate income homeowners in Buena Vista, Emmet, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola and Sioux counties are eligible to apply. The assistance will be in the form of grants and low interest loans.

Assistance is limited to only households at or below 80 percent of the area median income and atleast 30 percent of the funding will be set aside to benefit extremely low-income households.

Applications are available at local lending institutions, city halls or the county courthouse of those counties that are eligible.

The money was released by the Iowa Finance Authority, which administers the State Housing Trust Fund.
