Bomgaars Elected To Ward 3 Seat On Spencer City Council

(Spencer)– The Ward three seat on the Spencer city council has been filled.

Nearly 33 percent of the registered voters in the ward went to the polls Tuesday to elect a new councilman. The seat was vacated by Reynold Peterson who was elected Mayor in November.

Of the 556 votes cast in the election, Steve Bomgaars picked up the most with 278. Kyle Norris was second with 180 and R-D Bob Johnson was third with 95 votes.

Bomgaars has been a Social Studies teacher at Spencer High School since 1980; Boys Golf Coach since 1989 and head of the Social Studies Department since 2000.

He’ll be sworn in at the council’s next meeting February 16th.
