Man Held As Material Witness In Fatal Stabbing In Sheldon

November 22, 2014

(Sheldon)– A weekend stabbing in Sheldon has resulted in the death of one man and the arrest of another.

Sheldon Police say they were called to a mobile home park around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on a report of a disturbance. Upon arriving, police say they found 37-year-old Duane Mankser of Sheldon with multiple stab wounds to the chest. Mansker was taken to Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities say the stabbing took place at the residence of 47-year-old Richard Isbill, who was arrested as a material witness. He’s being held in the O’Brien county jail on 100-thousand dollars bond.

Isbill was arrested after agents with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation searched his residence and seized several items as evidence.

An investigation continues.

Authorities say Mansker and Isbill were neighbors.
