Dickinson Supervisors Hear Latest Courthouse Cost Estimates

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Wednesday reviewed the latest cost estimates on the courthouse project.

Architect Al Oberlander of the RDG Architectural firm reported the estimated construction price is at 12,782,000-dollars as the project makes its way through the “Design Development” stage. A 10 percent contingency for cost overruns is included in that. 12.6 million has been identified by supervisors as the targeted construction cost.

Oberlander reported two more estimates will be presented to supervisors prior to bids being let late this spring or early summer.

He added they’ll be finetuning some elements of the project in an effort to bring the cost down closer to the 12.6 million that was targeted.
