Teens Arrested In Palo Alto Co. Traffic Stop For Having Alcohol

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– A traffic stop Sunday in Palo Alto county resulted in four teenagers being charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age.

Palo Alto County Sheriff Russ Jergens says his office received a report from Clay county authorities about a vehicle being driven recklessly eastbound from Spencer shortly before 9:00 a.m. Jergens says deputies with his department stopped the vehicle about 25 minutes later in Palo Alto county.

The driver, 19-year-old Chad Lynch of Gilmore City, was arrested for driving while barred and possession of alcohol under the legal age.

Three passengers in the vehicle were cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age. They’re identified as 19-year-old Brandon Ziegler of Emmetsburg; 20-year-old Travis Kraft of Rockwell City and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Palmer.

All were cited and released except Lynch who was placed in the Palo Alto county jail pending an initial appearance before a magistrate.
