(Ames)– Three northwest Iowa entities will share in grants awarded through the Iowa Department of Transportation’s “Keep Iowa Beautiful” program.
The program is funded by a check-off on Iowa’s State Income Tax. A total of 62,784-dollars was received in the 2002 tax year. A total of 43,677-dollars in grants was awarded. The remaining 19,107-dollars will be used for statewide efforts.
70 percent of the funds are allocated to local beautification efforts while 30 percent go to statewide initiatives.
