May Files For State Representative

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A retired Spirit Lake teacher has officially filed as a Republican candidate for the sixth district seat in the Iowa House of Representatives.

Mike May of Spirit Lake says he filed his candidacy papers with the state on Monday.

May will take on Greg Stevens…a Democrat from Milford…who announced earlier this week he’ll seek a fourth term as State Representative.

May says his involvement in several local issues and a desire to give something back through public service is what led to his interest in running.

With a number of critical issues facing the state, May feels it’s important the area be represented by a member of the majority party.

May says healthcare, the economy and education will be at the forefront of his campaign.
