(Superior)– A one vehicle rollover Thursday afternoon on the east side of Superior sent one person to the hospital.
Dickinson County Sheriff Greg Baloun says 72-year-old Verla Petersen of Estherville was eastbound on Highway nine when she came upon a vehicle that had stopped on the highway and was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto 330th Avenue. Baloun says Petersen lost control of a 2000 Buick she was driving when she attempted to go around the vehicle. The vehicle Petersen was driving left the road and rolled.
Petersen was taken by Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville with minor injuries.
10-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the vehicle she was driving.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Superior Fire and Rescue and Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance.
The mishap took place around 3:00 p.m.
