(Arnolds Park)– A traffic stop Thursday in Dickinson county has resulted in meth charges being filed against two men.
The Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped a vehicle driven by 32-year-old James Handsaker of Arnolds Park as the result of an investigation in the theft of some pseudoephedrine pills from a pharmacy in Spencer. The investigation led to the discovery of items associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Handsaker was arrested and charged with ongoing criminal conduct…a class “B” felony; manufacturing a controlled substance…methamphetamine…a class “C” felony; receiving a precursor with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance…a class “C” felony; and sponsoring or promoting a gathering where controlled substances are used…a class “D” felony.
Also arrested was a passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Richard McWilliams of Omaha. He was charged with possession of pseudoephedrine precursors…a class “D” felony.
Authorities then executed a search warrant on a residence at 421 Okoboji Grove Road in Arnolds Park that turned up items associated with the usage and manufacturing of methamphetamine.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer, Arnolds Park, Milford, Okoboji and Spirit Lake Police Departments.
Authorities say their investigation continues and additional charges are likely.
