(Sioux City)– A rural Clay county man has pleaded guilty in U-S District Court to meth and firearm charges.
36-year-old Joel Lee Storey was convicted of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm while being an unlawful user of controlled substances.
In a plea agreement, Storey admitted that between about 1993 and continuing through about September 3rd, 2003 he and others manufactured and distributed atleast 6.94 ounces of pure methamphetamine and atleast 4.24 pounds of methamphetamine mixture.
Storey remains in custody pending sentencing, which will be held upon the completion of a pre-sentence report.
He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of life imprisonment along with a four million dollar fine and a minimum of five years of supervised release following any imprisonment.
