(Spirit Lake)– This week (March 29th-April 2nd) has been designated “Severe Weather Awareness Week” in the state of Iowa.
Todd Heitkamp, a Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls urges everyone to take some time this week to review their severe weather practices.
Residents, schools, businesses and other public institutions are urged to participate in a statewide tornado drill Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m.
Heitkamp, in conjunction with the Dickinson County Emergency Management Agency, will be putting on a seminar for storm spotters and other interested persons Monday, April 5th at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Building on the Dickinson county fairgrounds in Spirit Lake.
