(Estherville)– An Estherville man has been arrested on bomb-making charges.
Emmet county authorities say 18-year-old Edward Azar was taken into custody following the search of his home Sunday night at 1215 3rd Avenue South, Apartment 2.
The Sheriff’s Office says they recovered an assembled bomb…missing only a fuse…along with bomb-making materials, including gun powder, pipe, fuses and shotgun shot.
Officials say they obtained the search warrant based on a tip that a bomb or the materials used to make one were at the Estherville residence.
Azar was charged with possession of explosives. He’s being held in the Emmet county jail on 13-thousand dollars bond.
Federal charges are pending in the case.
