(Milford)– Okoboji High School has a new Principal.
The school board has approved the hiring of Michael Schmidts to the position, effective this coming July 1st.
Schmidts is currently the Principal at Burlington High School. He’s had 26 years experience in the education field…some of those as a teacher and as a work experience coordinator with an Area Education Agency. Schmidts has been an administrator 14 years with stints in Fairfield, Eddyville, Oskaloosa and Burlington.
Schmidts says he and his wife look forward to moving to the Iowa Great Lakes Area to be closer to her parents who live in Odeboldt.
Schmidts says he’s very impressed with what he’s seen, heard and read about the Okoboji School District.
He succeeds Larry Traughber, who will be retiring at the end of the current school year.
