(Spirit Lake)– Minor injuries were reported in a motorcycle accident Tuesday evening just south of Spirit Lake.
Police say 24-year-old Curtis Ettema of Okoboji was northbound on 245th Avenue, or Hill Avenue, and was attempting to turn east onto 165th Street, or Hawn Road. Authorities say Ettema encountered some loose sand and gravel that caused him to lose control of a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle he was operating.
Ettema was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with what was described as non-incapacitating injuries.
The mishap took place shortly after 9:30 p.m.
