(Milford)– A new establishment will soon be opening its doors in Milford.
The city council Monday approved a liquor license for “Zippers” which will be located in the former “Chevy’s” building at the junction of Highways 86 and 71 in north Milford. The business will feature exotic dancing. While that’s how it was initially described to the council, an attorney for the proprietor described it as more of an upscale gentleman’s club. And he said there would be no nude dancing in the establishment and that there would be plenty of security.
It was reported the city has nothing in its zoning ordinance prohibiting such a business. The council then voted unanimously to approve the liquor license, provided a background check is performed…something that’s required for someone holding a liquor license for the first time.
While the gentleman’s club will be operating out of one part of the former “Chevy’s” building, it was reported an entirely different business, a bait shop, will be operating from another part of it.
