(Jackson, Mn.)– Jackson county is lifting it’s ban on open burning effective immediately.
Sheriff Roger Hawkinson made the announcement this (Mon.) morning after conferring with the county’s Fire Chiefs.
Hawkinson says the decision to lift the ban is in light of the rain that fell with last (Sun.) evening’s thunderstorms.
Having said that, Hawkinson is still urging everyone to use good judgement and common sense while burning.
Jackson is one of several southern and southwestern Minnesota counties that had implemented burning bans in recent weeks due to the very dry conditions.
