(Gillett Grove)– Two early morning employees at the South Clay School in Gillett Grove got a surprise when they arrived at work Wednesday morning and interrupted a burglary in progress.
At about 4:45 a.m., two employees opened the school and heard someone running through the hallways. The suspect was able to exit the school and ran through a wooded area on the east side of the building.
The employees discovered a supply closet that had been forced open. A complete list of missing items wasn’t immediately available.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in solving the burglary.
The suspect is described as six feet tall; thin; with longer, greasy hair.
