Two People Injured In Separate Accidents In SW Minnesota

(Undated)– Two people were injured in separate accidents over the weekend in Jackson and Cottonwood counties.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the first mishap took place shortly before 10:00 a.m. Saturday on Highway 60 near Brewster. Authorities say 15-year-old Aaron Sailer of Sioux Falls lost control of a 1997 Plymouth Voyager that collided with a guard rail. A passenger, 43-year-old Sara Sailer, was taken by ambulance to the Worthington hospital and was transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital with lacerations and glass in an eye. No injuries were reported to Aaron Sailer.

The other mishap took place around 3:00 p.m. Saturday on Highway 60 near Windom. Authorities say a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria squad car owned by the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office and driven by 28-year-old Jeffrey LaCanne of Windom and a 2000 Mercury driven by 68-year-old Patti Byers of Westbrook collided in a rear-end crash. LaCanne was taken by ambulance to the Windom hospital where he was treated for a sore arm and released. No injuries were reported to Byers.
