(Okoboji)– A building that houses equipment for a swimming pool was heavily damaged by fire early this (Mon.) morning at the Country Club Motel in Okoboji.
Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire Chief Steve Dulin says his department was called to the scene around 2:40 a.m. Upon arrival Dulin says they found the building that houses a boiler, pump and some chemicals fully engulfed.
Dulin says fortunately they were able to keep the boiler from exploding, and there were no adverse reactions from any of the chemicals.
Dulin says an electrical malfunction allowed the boiler to overheat, starting the fire.
The blaze was contained to the pool house, which was heavily damaged.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were on the scene about an hour.
