Local Agencies Awarded Federal Money For Bulletproof Vests

(Undated)– Some local cities and counties have been awarded federal funding to purchase bullet-proof vests.

U-S Senator Tom Harkin announced today (Fri.) 231-thousand dollars is being awarded to Iowa through the U-S Department of Justice’s Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program to purchase more than a thousand bullet-proof vests.

Locally, Aurelia will receive 273-dollars to purchase one vest; Estherville will get 1,500-dollars to purchase eight vests; Milford was awarded 1,617-dollars to purchase four vests; Okoboji will get 224-dollars for one vest; the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was awarded 1,043-dollars to purchase three vests; and the Clay County Conservation Board will get 735-dollars to purchase three vests.
